I want to start an ongoing dialog. Don't make this complex or scientific. Let it be simple and organic.
Think of a trait of RW. You can just name it or you can describe it. Then name the person(s) who has that trait. What was Ralph like, and who carries that torch on?
A few examples for clarity:
One of Papaws strongest physical features was that nose, excuse me, I mean that NOSE. Harold had Papaws nose.
Papaw was shrewd. He was cunning. He was a natural business man, based on common sense and incredible personal discipline. I see these same qualities in Jon, Maclaren, Rachel, Kinsey,
A final thought:
make this dialog like a family reunion: lots of input, lots of opinions. Sometimes in agreement, sometimes in argument. bottom line--describe our RW, and name the person who has matching DNA

RW was one of the most generous people I've ever heard of. He was a big giver of time and money. I think Sharon is just like him in this way. She has a lifestyle of giving her time and money in a huge, sacrificial way. She's a chip off the old generous block.
I agree about Sharon- I've always appreciated that about you Sharon.
I think when it comes to paw paws strong willed "lets do it my way" nature, Elijah and I have this one down! I used to think it was a bad thing but I know now that it can be a very powerful tool.

RW had a great analytical mind, insatiable hunger for knowledge and passion for getting other people excited about Jesus. Undoubtedly my mom carries all three of those torches and she passed along the first two to me, as well as PawPaw's nose. I can't say I think it's necessarily fair for me to have that specific DNA... nonetheless, a woerner nose I got. Incidentally, they offered to do a rhinoplasty at the same time as my jaw surgery and I said no, because deep down, I'm proud of that schnoz.
Also, PawPaw passed on a love of writing to my Mom and Amy and I have it as well as Joanna. I'd say all of us know how to articulate ourselves pretty well. I mean, who's met a Woerner who doesn't know and express their mind well?
I dont know if this is inherited- but we all know Pawpaw could just sit and stare for hours. He also loved to read.
I definately got both of these traits from him.
also, how is it that april and i are the only ones who got the woerner nose???
I can sit and stare for hours as well ames! I am glad I am not a freak!!!
Richard definitely got the paw paw walk. I think he got his love for the outdoors as well.

the ability to make stuffed animals talk- mom got that.
One of the reasons I married Joel is because of his giving heart. It reflected the two greatest men I knew, my dad and my PawPaw.
I, thank God, did not get Paw Paw's toe nails... but I know who did.

Richard has his DRIVEN genes. Many (maybe all) of us have his passion for knowledge. I like that about our family. We're always reading and learning something new and sharing it with each other.
I think Jase got his love for growing tomatoes.
You can see his entreprenurial spirit in each of his daughters- I think he had a lot to be proud of with all that you ladies have accomplished!
Rich, Jase and Jon are all excellent public speakers and great at communicating god's word in a practical, relevant way.
Richard totally got his driven genes and his business mind. Richard is also incredibly giving and shrewd like RW.
Sharon got her care for others-the way she treats her employees and dotes on her grandchildren.
Elaine got his way of making others feel important and special.
Kinsey and Pam got his great smile!
Kinsey is a very accomplished public speaker AND good at the PawPaw stare. We all agreed at Vallarta she is the torch carrier there.
I know Sharon and Kinsey are both amazingly generous and loyal
i'll be the first to admit that i have a tendency to be impatient... and a little stubborn :) :) (especially with these pregnancy hormones- LOOK OUT!)
