I remember when we were all little, Pawpaw would tell us that he wasn't fat, his belly was big cause it was so full of love for us.
And then I remember the year he had his triple-bypass surgery. He showed up to our family reunion looking so frail and skinny. And I remember him telling us not to worry, even though his belly is gone, it's still so full of love for us.
And today I remember...the last time I saw Pawpaw, I remember him sitting in his recliner, rooster chirping in the background, Blackie barking up a storm. Pawpaw couldn't remember my name, but I know he remembered that he loved me. He just sat in his recliner staring at me and smiling. He made me come over and sit in his lap, where he proceeded to "slap" my back.
Maybe those slaps hurt so bad cause they were fueled by so much love.
Pawpaw, when you get to see Jesus, I know he will so excited to see you he may even end up slapping you. And you will love it, because you know exactly what that means. And I hope you and Harold have so much fun together up there. New bodies, new houses, new everything! I know heaven can't wait wait for you get up there, and announce your presence with your Woerner woop. Please remember that our bellys are down here still so full of love for you, and we can't wait to see you again!
